Complete Denture/ Removable Partial Denture

Dentures require few weeks adjustment period. Your conscious effort to adapt and occasional help from your dentist may be needed during this period.

Start slowly with a new denture, eat easier, softer and non-sticky foods first before attempting to chew more challenging foods. Also, gently practice speaking with your new dentures. This adaptation period shall be a need even if you have experience of denture use.

  • Dentures require few weeks adjustment period. Your conscious effort to adapt and occasional help from your dentist may be needed during this period. This time varies from person to person.
  • After several days of trial wear with a new set, you will generally be instructed to return to your dentist for a check. Your dentist can than make necessary adjustments or give you suggestions for dealing with any concerns that you have.
  • Remove the denture before going to bed at night.
  • Keep the denture in the water. Change water daily. For this purpose use the container box provided.
  • After every meal rinse your mouth and clean your teeth.
  • Clean denture with the help of hand washing soap and toothbrush. Do not use toothpaste to clean the denture.
  • Use denture cleaning tablets according to the instructions of manufacturing company.

  • Do not bite with the front teeth of the denture and use back teeth.
  • Do not eat very hard and sticky food with denture teeth
  • New denture sometimes may cause pain or inflammation in the gums. In such situation do not use denture for some days and if the situation still does not resolve kindly contact or visit us.
  • Do not adjust or mend the denture yourself. You may cause irreparable damage to the denture.
  • Keep your denture away from the children and pets.
